Canada watch: Rocket League joins Frag for Cancer’s November 13–15 weekend

Event brief · November 13–15, 2026 · Halifax, Nova Scotia

Frag for Cancer lists its 2026 event for November 13–15 at the Light House Arts Centre, 1800 Argyle Street, Halifax. Rocket League is included among the games linked from the organizer’s programme.

More than one game

The site also links rules for Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, VALORANT, League of Legends, StarCraft II and fighting games. That makes it useful coverage beyond our Quebec and Montreal priority without narrowing the regional calendar to six titles.

The organizer describes a community fundraising mission and identifies Movember as its current charity focus. Its site links ticketing, the event schedule and game-specific rules.

Before you join or tune in

Use those game-specific pages for entry requirements and match timing. The overall weekend dates do not establish a start time for every bracket, and this brief does not assume an official stream exists for every game.

Montreal watch: MIGS returns to the Grand Quay November 10–11

Industry event · November 10–11, 2026, 09:00–17:00 Montreal time

The Montréal International Game Summit is scheduled for November 10–11, 2026, at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal, from 09:00 to 17:00. Presented by La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec with XP Gaming, it puts Montreal’s games ecosystem on the calendar next week.

What the programme covers

The organizer lists four content stages covering development, business, publishing, AI and mobile, alongside an Indie Zone, live indie pitches and a business showfloor. The programme also includes a Pocket Gamer Connects stage and external-development activities.

Where it fits on ZYX

MIGS is an industry conference, not an esports tournament. It matters to a Montreal-first gaming hub as a place to discover studios, creators and projects behind future releases, while separate competition listings cover the players and teams.

Use the organizer’s programme and registration pages for the current agenda and admission details. ZYX will give Quebec and Montreal special attention within broader Canadian coverage, without restricting regional stories to a fixed game list.

Greater Montreal Rocket League: Lynx tryouts open for winter 2027

Team selection · Apply by November 30, 2026, 16:00 Quebec time

Cégep Édouard-Montpetit in Longueuil is recruiting for the Lynx Rocket League team for the winter 2027 session of the Ligue collégiale de sports électroniques. This is a Greater Montreal campus opportunity, with selection sessions held remotely.

Dates to keep

The college asks applicants to complete its form by November 30, 2026, at 16:00. The listed remote sessions are December 2, 7 and 9, from 19:15 to 20:45.

Use the college’s event page for the application form, Lynx esports Discord and coaching contact. Confirm eligibility directly with the college: this is recruitment for its team, not a public open tournament or a guaranteed roster place.

Why it is on our Quebec radar

Rocket League is one of ZYX’s priority games, and campus teams are a practical local route into organized competition. Longueuil is on Montreal’s South Shore; the online selection format should not be confused with an in-person Montreal venue.

Montreal: a free multi-game tournament in Lachine on November 27

Community event · November 27, 2026, 17:00–20:00 Montreal time · Ages 10+

Montreal’s municipal calendar lists a free introductory video-game tournament for ages 10 and up on Friday, November 27, 2026. It runs from 17:00 to 20:00 at Bibliothèque de Saint-Pierre in Lachine.

The local details

The venue is at 183, rue des Érables, Montreal. Registration is required, and the city says registration begins November 1 through the ticketing link on its event page.

Studio GrosJoueurs facilitators will lead a multi-game competition covering racing, team and duel formats. The city does not name the individual games in this listing, so ZYX is not labeling it a Fortnite, Rocket League or Roblox tournament.

A community entry point

This is an introductory local gaming activity rather than a professional esports championship. It still belongs on a Montreal-first calendar: accessible community events are part of the region’s gaming scene. Check the city’s current page for remaining availability and participation details.
